FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Is the service really free?

Yes. Validating, viewing, converting, creating, extracting and batch processing are free and need no registration.

Are my invoices stored?

No. Files are processed only transiently and discarded after the result is shown.

Which formats are supported?

XRechnung, ZUGFeRD/Factur-X, Peppol BIS, FatturaPA, Finvoice, ebInterface, Austrofix, FA_VAT and Facturae.

Does validation follow EN 16931?

Yes. All 287 EN 16931 Schematron rules are natively ported to C# and proven against the official CEN, KoSIT and Peppol test corpora.

Can I issue invoices internationally?

Yes. National formats cover Germany, France, Austria, Italy, Spain, Finland and Poland; via Peppol BIS you additionally reach the Netherlands, Belgium, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Ireland and more. For Australia/New Zealand, Singapore, the UAE and Japan the international PINT profiles are supported.

What is an e-invoice?

An e-invoice is an invoice in a structured, machine-readable XML format based on the European standard EN 16931 — such as XRechnung or ZUGFeRD. A plain PDF or paper invoice does not qualify as an e-invoice.

When does e-invoicing become mandatory?

In Germany, businesses must be able to receive e-invoices since 1 January 2025; the obligation to issue B2B e-invoices follows from 2027 (previous-year revenue above 800,000 euros) and from 2028 for everyone. Italy, Poland and other countries have their own, partly earlier deadlines.

What is the difference between XRechnung and ZUGFeRD?

XRechnung is a pure XML file without a visual PDF; ZUGFeRD (Factur-X) is a hybrid of a PDF invoice and embedded XML. Both comply with EN 16931 and count as e-invoices in Germany — the convert tool switches between them losslessly.

E-invoicing mandate: issuing becomes mandatory from 2027

This tool handles one invoice at a time. Docuflair validates, archives, converts and sends e-invoices automatically — including inbound EN 16931 checks, bulk processing and Peppol.
