    What is openTRANS?

    openTRANS is a German standard for electronic business documents in B2B procurement, published by Fraunhofer IAO and closely related to the BMEcat product catalogue standard. The invoice is its INVOICE document type; version 2.1 is the common one. openTRANS describes the procurement process but does not satisfy the European invoicing standard — for sending to public bodies and business partners it becomes an XRechnung, ZUGFeRD or Peppol BIS invoice. This tool converts in both directions.
